A lawsuit filed by a fired CIA doctor claims she was booted from her job by the Trump administration after she was placed on a “Deep State Target List” by a right-wing activist.
Terry Adirim was fired from her job as the director of the CIA Centers for Global Health Services earlier this year, after she had taken the job late last year. In a lawsuit, she claims she was targeted by “a political extremist,” which prompted her firing, according to the New York Times.
“Plaintiff and her family suffered terrible injustice only because her good service to our country made her a target for a political extremist who defamed her and called for the termination of her employment and even her death,” Adirim’s lawyer said in the lawsuit, per the report.
Adirim’s firing was reported first by Breitbart News in April, noting that she was one of the top officials behind the controversial COVID-19 vaccine mandate for military service members when she worked at the Department of Defense. The report said her firing was due to her role in the vaccine mandate, which saw many service members booted for not complying.
One of the chief critics of Adirim has been Ivan Raiklin, the self-described “secretary of retribution” for President Donald Trump, who published a “Deep State Target List” with people he has accused of treason. Adirim was on the list and believes that it cost the CIA’s top doctor her job.
“Plaintiff’s good advice saved the lives of American service members,” Adirim’s lawyer said in the lawsuit. “While several troops sadly died of Covid-19 in the early days of the pandemic in 2020-1, none died of Covid-19 after Secretary Austin adopted her recommendation and ordered our armed forces vaccinated.”
Raiklin has posted several times on X since the New York Times report released, directing his anger and criticism toward Adirim. In one post, he claimed that “millions” of Americans “know that you belong behind bars… at a minimum” for her actions regarding the vaccine mandate.

The accusation from Adirim that Raiklin may have been responsible for her firing comes after right-wing activist Laura Loomer has taken credit for various firings in the Trump administration.
She has sounded the alarm about several Trump administration staffers for alleged disloyalty or ties to foreign adversaries, and several people she “exposed” have since been fired. Loomer took credit after multiple National Security Council officials were fired, as well as when national security adviser Mike Waltz was removed from his position, and has taken aim at Trump’s nominee for general counsel for the Department of Defense. Loomer met with Trump at the White House prior to the NSC firings.
