A convicted murderer swore at and attempted to physically attack his teenage victim’s father in a southeastern Florida courtroom Friday, videos show.

The father of Andrea Camps-Lacayo was reading a victim impact statement in a courtroom of the Miami-Dade County Courthouse after the conviction of Adrian Cosby, 23, when the latter attempted his attack, WPLG Local 10 reported.

“You are the epitome of evil and darkness that this world represents,” Camp-Lacayo’s father read. “There’s no forgiveness on this earth for animals like you. There’s only one place animals like you belong, and that’s in prison for the rest of your life.”

“This court today confirmed once again that truth that we all seek — the truth that you are a fool, a liar, and a monster for what you did not only to Andrea but our whole entire family and friends,” Camps-Lacayo added, while facing and pointing at Cosby, according to NBC 6 South Florida.

Cosby then leapt from his seat, swearing, according to a video aired by the outlet. Court officers promptly restrained him from lunging at the victim’s family and led him away, the video shows. Cosby’s family reportedly then left the courtroom. (RELATED: Video Appears To Show Defendant Launching At Judge After She Denies Him Probation)

The Miami Herald identified the victim’s parents as Alexander Camps and Maria Camps-Lacayo.

High schooler Andrea Camps-Lacayo, 18, went together with her boyfriend Sergio Berben in early April 2020 to an abandoned house where they were to sell three pairs of the popular Yeezy sneakers for $935, NBC 6 South Florida reported. They had met the potential buyers on social media, according to The Miami Herald.

George Walton, then 19, wanted to try the shoes on, but Berben wanted to see payment first, according to the outlet.

Cosby, then 19, then appeared and shot Camps-Lacayo and Berben.

Berben reportedly drove off from the botched robbery scene to seek medical help. Miami-Dade fire rescue personnel got them both to a hospital, where Camps-Lacayo died of her injuries during surgery.

Camps-Lacayo reportedly was on the verge of graduating from Terra Environmental Research Institute at the time of her death. She also was the captain of the school’s competitive dance team. She and Berben, both Miami-Dade high school seniors, reportedly were trying to raise money during the early days of COVID-19 by selling the sneakers.

Judge Miguel M. de la O sentenced Cosby after the assault to life imprisonment for the first-degree felony murder of Camps-Lacayo, life imprisonment for attempted felony murder and 25 years imprisonment for attempted robbery concurrently.

The judge had convicted Walton of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder and attempted robbery with a firearm and sentenced to life in prison in February, the Miami Herald separately reported.

Cosby could appeal his sentence, WPLG 10 Local reported.
