What a way to start out the World Series!
Especially for Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman, who had a tough time running Friday. Fortunately for him, he didn’t have to.
Throughout the month of October, Freeman has been dealing with an ankle injury and has been in-and-out when it comes to his placement in the Dodgers’ starting lineup as a result. But the 35-year-old started the Fall Classic with a vengeance, closing out Game 1 with a power grand slam in the 10th inning when taking on Yankees starting pitcher Nestor Cortes Jr. (RELATED: Owner John Fisher Looking To Sell 25% Of Athletics For Completely Overvalued $500 Million: REPORT)
Prior to Freeman coming up to the plate, New York intentionally walked Los Angeles shortstop Mookie Betts, setting up a battle between a left-handed batter and left-handed Cortes.
And that’s when Freeman arrived at a childhood dream … two outs with bases loaded in the extra innings with a chance to win Game 1 of the World Series … and boy oh boy, did he take advantage.
A grand slam to bring the Dodgers to a 6-3 win over the Yankees to take a 1-0 series lead, talk about some magical ish.

Now y’all already know that I’m rooting for the Yankees, but I can’t help but to be happy for the Dodgers. I mean, damn, that was a crazy way to end Game 1.
So with that being said, and even though I’m a Drake fan, I think we all need to blast this for Los Angeles — what a massive way to get the World Series started for our viewing pleasure! (No Diddy)
