You honestly couldn’t script this any better.
Saquon Barkley, the superstar running back who used to play for the New York Giants and now suits up for the rival Philadelphia Eagles, shut the Big Apple haters up Sunday with an absolutely powerhouse performance against his former team at MetLife Stadium.
On 17 carries, Barkley put up a mesmerizing 176 yards with a 10.4 average and he also punched in a touchdown. He also scraped up 11 yards on the receiving end off two catches. In fact, his and the Eagles‘ showing was so dominant that Saquon was able to sit out the majority of the fourth quarter while the Birds cruised to a 28-3 win. When Barkley and the Philly offense ran on the field for the first time, they were slammed with boos, and the New York fanbase continued their booing at Barkley every time he was given the ball. Barkley left the Giants following six campaigns and inked a deal with the rival Eagles back in the offseason.
With that being said though, the boobirds got quieter and quieter until eventually silent after getting killed by Barkley with each play. Eventually, Giants fans changed course and expressed their distaste at another horrendous day from the G-Men’s offense.
