FBI Releases New Video Of J6 Pipe Bomb Suspect — Nearly 4 Years Later

FBI Releases New Video Of J6 Pipe Bomb Suspect — Nearly 4 Years Later FBI Releases New Video Of J6 Pipe Bomb Suspect — Nearly 4 Years Later

The FBI was mocked on Thursday after it released new information about suspect accused of placing pipe bombs in Washington, D.C., the night prior to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot almost four years later.

The FBI Washington Field Office published a video of the suspect appearing to plant a bomb near the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The video comes in the wake of a Jan. 6 report spearheaded by Republican Reps. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia and Thomas Massie of Kentucky.

The report noted that two pipe bombs, which authorities said were discovered outside the offices of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC), diverted law enforcement from the Capitol “at a critical time.” (RELATED: New Orleans’ FBI Office, Police Department Are Chock-Full Of DEI Nonsense)

“On January 5, 2021, the suspect placed pipe bombs near the offices of the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee,” the FBI wrote online. “As part of our renewed call for tips, #FBIWFO posted previously unreleased video of the suspect placing a bomb near the DNC.”

The suspect was wearing grey Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes bearing a yellow logo, according to a press release from 2021. The alleged attempted bomber also wore a sweatshirt with a hood, as well as gloves and a facemask. The bureau said Thursday that it now believes the suspect is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall.

The announcement reiterated the FBI’s $500,000 reward for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of the pipe bomb suspect. The FBI claimed that while tips from the public have helped “advance the investigation,” it has still failed to find the individual responsible for planting the pipe bombs.

“The tips the FBI has received so far have helped us advance the investigation, but they have not led us to identify the suspect,” the FBI said on Thursday. “We urge anyone who may have previously hesitated to come forward, or who may not have realized they had important information, to contact the FBI.” (RELATED: Editor Daily Rundown: Jan. 6 Prosecutor To Leave Office Before Trump’s Inauguration)

The minimal results of the bureau’s investigation were not well received online. Some observed that the FBI was able to identify more than a thousand people connected to the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“You found the Praying Granma in days,” Gunther Eagleman replied. “This statement 4 years later is pathetic.”

Rebecca Lavrenz, or the “J6 praying grandma,” was fined $103,000 and sentenced to a year of probation for entering the Capitol building on Jan. 6.

“Really strange how y’all were able to identify 1500 people who even so much as walked on the [Capitol] grounds on January 6th, but you can’t find the person who planted the pipe bomb?” another user tweeted. (RELATED: Biden To Award Presidential Citizens Medal To January 6 Committee Leaders)

A Department of Justice Inspector General (IG) report from December found that the FBI had 26 informants in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, four of which entered the Capitol.

President Biden recently honored the former Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, previously the Vice Chair of the Jan. 6 committee, with the Presidential Citizens Medal.
