Holding the nickname “Big O” during his days as a player, former NBA star Oliver Miller has passed away at 54 years old.

In college, Miller played as a center for Arkansas where he helped the Razorbacks get to the Final Four, going on to the NBA where he spent nine seasons.

Standing at 6 feet, 9 inches and weighing around 300 pounds, Miller was a standout star for the Razorbacks from 1988-92. In four campaigns, Miller averaged 12.2 points-per-game and 6.5 rebounds-per-game.

In the 1989-90 season, he was a part of the Final Four squad that was led by Naismith Hall of Fame head coach Nolan Richardson. That team ultimately lost to Duke. Miller was named the 1991 Southwest Conference Player of the Year.

Miller was also a member of the 1992-93 Phoenix Suns who advanced to the NBA Finals and lost against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

Tributes rained down for Miller, including from Arkansas.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Arkansas legend Oliver Miller,” stated Arkansas on social media. “A key member of the 1990 Final Four team, an SWC Hall of Famer, a first-round NBA draft pick and a true embodiment of the Razorback spirit. We love you Big O. Our thoughts are with his family.”
