Cain Velasquez, a 42-year-old ex-UFC Heavyweight Champion, has been given a prison sentence of five years for attempted murder and multiple other charges that stemmed from a 2022 incident. His sentence was handed down Monday in San Jose, California.
Harry Goularte, an individual who was hit with allegations of molesting Velasquez‘s son, was made a target by the fighter. The alleged molestation took place at a daycare that’s run by the mother of Goularte. (RELATED: Joe Rogan Refuses To Go To UFC Event Because He Doesn’t Travel To ‘Tyrannical’ Canada)
During a high-speed pursuit, Velasquez chased after a vehicle that had Goularte and his stepfather in it, eventually firing at the vehicle with a .40-caliber handgun. He ended up hitting Goularte’s stepdad, who suffered injuries that were non-life-threatening.
Up against felony charges of attempted murder, weapons violations and assault, Velasquez had a plea of no contest in Aug. 2024.

While on the “Kyle Kingsbury Podcast” earlier in March, Velasquez talked about the situation.
“From what I can say as far as myself, the way that I handled things, that was not the way to do it,” said Velasquez, per The Economic Times. “We cannot put the law in our own hands.”
