Freakshow Fashion Made Eyes Roll At The Grammy Awards

The Grammys were held Sunday at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, and in true form, the show included some freakish outfits that can’t be unseen.

Taking the top prize for ridiculously stupid outfits is none other than Will Smith’s son, Jaden. The 26-year-old showcased his poor judgement by wearing a structured suit that was accessorized by the castle he wore on his head. It’s even worse than it sounds. He actually wore a black headpiece shaped like a castle, and it completely covered his face. I don’t even care what the meaning of this viral hat is, it’s just plain bizarre, and I can’t get behind it.  His sister Willow flashed a smile that showcased her metallic grills, including a singular green grill on her front tooth. Let the memes begin…

I wanted to drag the outfit worn by Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, but she arrived wearing – nothing. She took off her fur coat to reveal a completely see-through mesh minidress, that was only made visible by the seamline down the side. This isn’t even an outfit, it’s full frontal nudity, and she was asked to leave because it’s actually required to wear something that covers your bits when attending the biggest night in music. I guess she can get a nod for the worst ‘undressed’ on my list.

I believe Chrissy Teigen wanted to add some shock value with her outfit, but thanks to the all-nude situation Censori served up, Teigen’s efforts paled by comparison. Her black mesh dress had a corset top and dramatically tiered bottom. It seemed like a futile attempt at sex appeal, and the see-through portions seemed misplaced and off-center.

Here’s Beyonce, pretending to be surprised that she won the Grammy she bought. But that’s not what I’m pointing at. Are those the underwires to her corset top poking up? Who made this dress? WTF? At one point in the evening it became clear that Beyonce’s fashion fail was actually stabbing her in the chest. The underwire in her dress seemed to protrude so much that it actually dug into her skin, and poked into her breasts. It looked to be as painful as it was hideous, begging the question – doesn’t she have a team that should work this sort of thing out?

Chappell Roan arrived in a strange, Marie Antoinette-inspired frock-like outfit. She wore a feathered headpiece and mesh gloves that were accented by dramatic makeup. Things became progressively worse when she donned a massive dunce-cap and clown outfit for her on-stage performance. I’m all for creativity, but this was just horrendous.

Lady Gaga embraced her goth era with horribly short micro bangs, and two pieces of hair strategically cut short to frame her face. She wore a heavy black top and skirt with a matching long, bold wig.  The hardened look made Gaga look downright witchy, and it didn’t suit her at all. Billie Eilish has long-embraced the loose suit look but she took it way too far this time. She wore a Prada suit that gave goth vibes, and just reminded me of a teenager trying too hard to fit in. She seemed really committed to downplaying her femininity and lost track of all fashion sense somewhere down the line.
