Say what you want about Marvel movies, but at least you know what you’ll get. Audiences still show up for the escape — for billion dollar SFX and a reliable dose of the Good Guys winning. It’s about the only thing they’re still showing up for in the moralizing era of woke Hollywood.
Yet all the goodwill behind this money-printing machine could soon be squandered, with the star of the latest Marvel series, “Agatha All Along,” sounding off about how gay it will be. You can be she doesn’t mean “happy.”
Aubrey Plaza reacts to #AgathaAllAlong being called the “gayest Marvel project yet”: “It better be, cause that’s what I signed up for.” https://t.co/fovgx9Ba68 pic.twitter.com/fBnVPYPl1R

Aubrey Plaza is best known as the moody teen from “The Office,” but her new persona involves lecturing us about LGBTQ rights, or whatever. When asked if her new series will be the “gayest Marvel project yet,” she responded: “It better be, cause that’s what I signed up for.”
Oh boy, here we go again. Remember what happened to the lesbian-witch Star Wars? It seems Disney (which also owns Marvel) still hasn’t learned their lesson.
To be clear, I haven’t watched “Agatha All Along” and don’t plan to. But the press is gushing and the description mentions some chick named Agatha fighting to “regain her former powers.” So you can bet it’s going to feature a bitter Girl Boss kicking the asses of all the men who wronged her all while exploring her sensual desires for the female body. Disney will paint her as the hero, but she’ll probably be the villain by normal moral standards.
So I can just about guess where this is going:
Terrible audience reviews should start to roll in any day now.
Next week, the press will start to lecture us about how sexist and homophobic we are for not liking the show.
The week after that, they’ll all openly wonder why the show bombed and discuss what this means for Disney. Of course, they’ll avoid the real answer.
Don’t expect anyone to learn a lesson here. I’m sure the new lesbian witch movie is already in post-production.
