God is good! And it seems Ashton is well aware of that!
Ashton Jeanty, the star running back of Boise State and a candidate for the Heisman Trophy, helped lead the Broncos into the College Football Playoff after yet another dominant performance in Friday night’s Mountain West title game.
But the first thing he spoke about following the victory wasn’t the championship, nor was it another 200-plus-yard performance which boosted his chances of winning the Heisman; it was to God. (RELATED: That Name Though: Noah Knigga Officially Signs With Eastern Michigan)
“First of all, I’ve got to thank God,” Jeanty said in a FOX Sports interview after Boise’s 21-7 win against UNLV.
“The way He’s been moving through this team and blessing us — God’s favor is over us.”

In the past, Jeanty has been open about his love for God and how faith plays a big part in his life.
“I like to say that I’m a Christian cleverly disguised as an All-American running back,” Jeanty said in a prior interview with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. “I’ve learned that God has blessed me with amazing talents. I’ve just been able to do a lot of great things with it, but at the same time, not losing yourself in it and understanding that my identity is in Christ.”
In the conference championship game, Jeanty put up 209 rushing yards with a 75-yard touchdown to bring his total tally to 2,947 rushing yards — only 132 yards short of breaking the all-time FBS record. It’s the sixth contest in the campaign that Jeanty has rushed for at least 200 yards.
