Get your popcorn, folks. This is gonna be a wild ride.

Let me introduce you to Martin Luther King High School. Located in Riverside, California, the school is the latest to be in a battle when it comes to the cultural issue of transgender athletes being in female sports. Over the last few weeks, students that attend the school have been going viral online while a lawsuit has been happening regarding two girls cross country runners allegedly being banned from wearing t-shirts that say “Save Girls Sports.” Leading the lawsuit, the two teenage girls are making allegations that their shirts were being hit with swastika comparisons by school officials, and doing this with a trans athlete taking a spot from a female on their varsity cross country team.

The situation further escalated when another member of the team, Rylee Morrow, gave a speech while attending a school board meeting back in November regarding her worries about being forced to be in a locker room with a transgender.

Well, things have ratcheted up even more, as students have popped up in a TikTok video that’s been spreading like wildfire stating that the school has slapped them with an updated dress code that bans the “Save Girls Sports” shirts.

“When our school won’t let a girl wear this shirt who lost her varsity spot for a biological male so everyone wears them and they try to not let us into school, dress code us and keep us out of class for voicing our opinion and supporting a friend. Crazy how the world works,” read a caption.

The original video on TikTok has been deleted amid the whirlwind, however, still gains steam across social media.

Sophia Lorey, the outreach director of California Family Council, said that over 150 students have sported the “Save Girls Sports” t-shirts to school since things originally popped off, alleging that students who didn’t comply with the school’s updated code had to sit in the principal’s office for hours. Lorey went on to say that the students will be continuing to wear the shirts consistently despite the school having a new rule.

Needless to say, keep your eyes on Martin Luther King High School — a war just brewed up.
