Southern California continues to feel heavy impacts from the wildfires.
Thursday’s home game for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Charlotte Hornets has been postponed by the NBA due to the multiple wildfires that are currently raging through Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
It’s the second consecutive day that a contest scheduled in downtown Los Angeles has been hit with a postponement. Wednesday’s NHL game between the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames was also postponed. As of Thursday afternoon, a makeup date for Hornets-Lakers hasn’t been announced by the NBA.
“The entire NBA family sends its thoughts and support to the community of Los Angeles during this challenging time,” said the league in an official statement. “We are grateful for the thousands of local firefighters and first responders who have demonstrated enormous bravery. Our prayers remain with those affected by the unimaginable devastation caused by the wildfires.”
The NBA has postponed tonight’s game between the Lakers and Hornets.
