Hulk Hogan announced the launch of “Real American Freestyle Wrestling” Wednesday on Instagram.
The famous wrestler released a black-and-white promotional video promising fans that he would “slice and dice” the wrestling industry alongside Eric Bischoff and decorated wrestling coach Israel “Izzy” Martinez, who will serve as the chief operating officer for the new project. Their new venture puts the focus on competitors who get paid to beat people up in an unscripted freestyle wrestling league.
According to a press release obtained by Forbes, Real American Freestyle Wrestling involves storytelling and over 40 characters, like former UFC fighter Ben Askren, former national champion Zahid Valencia, and former Olympian Kennedy Blades.

“Real American wrestlers are some of the most disciplined, elite athletes in the world — but until now, they haven’t had a true professional stage to showcase their greatness,” Hogan told the outlet. “Eric and I know how to build the kind of heat that grabs attention and we’re going to make Real American Freestyle wrestling a must-see for fans.”

These will not be the traditional WWE-style wrestling match-ups fans are accustomed to. Hogan’s new project will center around amateur-style wrestling with real money at stake. The competition will include bonuses for wins and championship purses.
“I mean we’re ready to roll bro!” Hogan said in his promo video.
“This is crazy, this is crazy,” he said.
Martinez hyped the production by saying, “We got the cash, we got the talent, we got Real American Freestyle Wrestling!” (RELATED: Hulk Hogan Gets Dunked In Baptismal Ceremony At Age 70)
“You’re gonna get paid to beat people up, you’re gonna get paid to win, you’re gonna get paid to make ’em scream so roll out the carpet, I don’t want super, super, super, super, I want mega, mega, mega stars,” Hogan shouted. “Whatcha gonna do when Real American Freestyle comes for you?!”
