Serena Williams, the greatest female player ever to step on a tennis court, is shooting back at her “haters” who have been blasting her with accusations of bleaching her skin. The allegations stem from an appearance that Williams made recently at a school while with her family.
This potential scandal started brewing when Williams, along with her husband Alexis Ohanian and their two children, showed up in a video at an event, according to People Magazine.
“And then I put just that neutral color, that is actually my skin color, and no, for you haters out there, I do not bleach my skin,” stated Williams in a video. “There is a thing called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors.” (RELATED: Jemele Hill Goes Complete Stupid In Latest Comments About Donald Trump, Kamala Harris)
In regards to her skin appearing lighter in the picture, Williams said she was wearing “stage makeup” while volunteering for a school play her daughter was in.
“Yes, I’m calling you out on this, because it is ridiculous. Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, she bleached her skin.’ I’m a dark, black woman, and I love who I am, and I love how I look,” added Williams.
“But that’s what this world is about, and I stay in my lane — the non-judge-y one, and I keep it. But no, I actually don’t bleach my skin, so can we just kinda clear that up?”
