A hoard of bugs swarmed several people Wednesday at the Netflix premiere of “The Perfect Couple.”
About an hour into the red carpet event for the Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber-led series premiere, a swarm of flying insects descended upon Hollywood Boulevard, according to Variety. As stars, press and fans lined up outside the Egyptian Theater, the hot sticky weather ensured they were far from alone.

“I think one just bit me,” Schreiber said at one point. The entire thing was caught on camera by interviewer Marc Malkin as he spoke to Meghann Fahy.
“We gotta leave LA,” Fahy said as she swatted at the bugs.
I couldn’t agree more, but for other reasons.
“It’s so unhinged. We’re gonna swallow one,” Fahy added. The bugs were likely drawn to the lights around the red carpet. This, coupled with the humidity, made for a pretty gross situation. Let’s hope the series didn’t flop for all those in attendance. (RELATED: ‘Always Sunny’ Star Kaitlin Olson Leads All-New ABC Drama Series)
“The Perfect Couple” is a six-part murder mystery set over a July 4 wedding weekend on Nantucket. With such a huge cast, one presumes the script is outstanding.
Kidman’s character is described as “matriarch of a megarich New York City family” whose “seemingly perfect brood begins to unravel when, just hours before she was to host her son’s wedding at their Nantucket estate, someone is found dead on their property.”
The series premieres for us already bug-ridden plebs Sept. 5.
