Israeli forces say strikes on Lebanon imminent Israeli forces say strikes on Lebanon imminent

The Israel Defense Forces warned Sunday that strikes on Lebanon are coming and told people in Beirut and other locations to evacuate ahead of the counterattacks.

“In the past 24 hours, dozens of projectiles have been fired at northern Israel,” IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a statement posted to X on Sunday. “In the next minutes, we will issue an advance evacuation warning to residents of Beirut and other areas in Lebanon to evacuate locations being used to finance Hezbollah’s terror activities.”

Israel’s strikes in the Gaza Strip killed at least 87 people from Saturday into Sunday.

Hezbollah fired more than 170 rockets into Israel earlier Sunday and served as the basis for the IDF’s forthcoming counterstrike.

The offensive comes after Israel killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar last week. The war has taken a more aggressive turn over the past month after Israel deployed ground troops into Lebanon.
