The Philadelphia Eagles locked up their spot in Super Bowl LIX after getting a victory Sunday over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship, and Philly reacted exactly how they’re supposed to — by filling the streets of one of the coolest cities in America and partying their asses off.
After the Birds put up a 50-burger against the franchise that needs to be renamed the Redskins, Philadelphia City Hall was lit up green, and in the process of this, fans started to collect into the streets. Having chaotic expectations going in, city officials and police decided to grease the poles so fans couldn’t climb them like in previous years, but you know how Philly does: they climbed those bad boys anyway! Broad Street was loaded with fans, and it was one hell of a sight to see with City Hall beaming green in the background. To make the scene even better, you had fireworks popping off right in the middle of downtown. Eagles fans created a glorious vibe as they celebrated their Feb. 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
