During Easter weekend, The New York Times (NYT) published a 10,000-plus word piece about ex-San Jose State volleyball transgender player Blaire Fleming. Identifying as a woman, Fleming is a biological male and helped the Spartans become a top squad in all of the Mountain West Conference.
The Daily Caller has been on the Fleming situation for a long minute now, so as you see, The New York Times is incredibly slow to get to the issue. But the piece wasn’t a completely lost cause because a solid piece of information got unearthed about former President Joe Biden and what he thought about men in female sports.

The NYT states that two camps divided the Biden administration on the trans issue: One side believed that men being in women’s bathrooms and sports were no different, while the other camp believed that trans athletes in female sports was a completely different topic than men using women’s bathrooms. The Times cites officials from the Biden administration who they talked with.
“[There] were administration officials who believed that the competitive, zero-sum nature of sports made them different from bathrooms — that some transgender athletes would enjoy unfair physical advantages over women,” wrote the NYT. “Most important, one of the officials holding this view was Biden himself.”
“The president was particularly focused on the competition issue,” said an ex-Biden administration official to the NYT.
