Josh Brolin Shares Horrifying Tale Of His Father Slaughtering His Pet And Feeding It To Him

Famous actor Josh Brolin recalled a traumatic childhood incident that involved his father slaughtering his pet pig and feeding it to him.

Brolin shared the troubling story during the Nov. 20 episode of “In Depth with Graham Bensinger,” and admitted there was no way he would ever do something like this to his own children. The topic came up when Bensinger admitted to Brolin that his father James had shared the story with him prior to their interview.

“So this story of me raising pigs — this is a horrible story, man — me raising pigs. Oink and Snort, those were their names,” Brolin said, as he spoke fondly of his beloved pets. “And I helped raise these pigs and we’re eating dinner one night — it’s amazing to me that he would tell you this story, it makes him look so bad — he said, ‘Guess what you’re eating.’ I said, ‘What?’ He said ‘either Oink or Snort.’”

Brolin indicated that he had already eaten some of his dinner and was enjoying the flavor when his Golden-Globe winning famous father made the bombshell revelation.

He didn’t specify how old he was when the incident occurred, but he spoke of it with dismay.

“I was like ‘What?’ And he went, ‘That’s what we’re eating, that’s who we slaughtered,’” Brolin told Bensinger.

He scrunched up his face during the interview, demonstrating his discontent.

“I was like, ‘Why would you tell a kid that?’ It makes no sense. Why would you tell your kid that with any semblance of celebration? Or was he just looking to have an impact? I think he was looking to have an impact,” Brolin said.

Brolin said he felt his dad was set on making an impression on him that day, “whether it’s a negative impact or not.”

He went on to admit that doing something like this to his own children was absolutely out of the question.

“I can break it down to being mad, because I can’t imagine saying that to my kid,” he said. (RELATED: Al Pacino Describes Very Intimate Injury That Is Sure To Make You Squeamish)

“It doesn’t even … it’s nowhere in my universe to say that to a kid. Why would you?”
