Justin Bieber broke his silence on the nature of his relationship with disgraced music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
“Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,” Bieber’s representatives told TMZ. “Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve,” his team said. Recently surfaced videos of interactions between Bieber and Diddy raised questions about the Canadian singer’s involvement in Diddy’s ‘Freak Offs,’ but TMZ’s sources that were reportedly deeply involved in Bieber’s life claimed Diddy never abused Bieber in any way.
TMZ’s informants claimed the public appearances involving Diddy and Bieber that circulated on social media were all “performative.” They claimed Bieber had closer friendships with Diddy’s sons Quincy and Justin Combs, but didn’t have a relationship with Diddy himself.
Footage dating back to 2009 showed Diddy unveiling a Lamborghini and telling Bieber, “As soon as you turn 16, I’m gonna let you rock this car,” and the very young Bieber gushed in awe over the vehicle. Later in the video Diddy refused to disclose where they were hanging out or what they would be doing with their time together, but teased their activities by saying, “it’s a 15-year-old’s dream.”
“For the next 48 hours, he’s with me and we’re gonna go buck full crazy,” Diddy said as he looked into the camera.
A video of Bieber and Diddy on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show in 2011 raised eyebrows when Diddy said Justin “knows better than to be talking about things that he does with Big Brother Puff on national television.”
Fans have been concerned with Bieber’s mental health after the star shared clips of himself using a bong, acting erratically, and going on rants about Christianity, his need to please, and the complexities of life. His tumultuous relationship with the paparazzi reignited in April when Bieber stared into the cameras of several photographers and blasted them for invading his privacy and monetizing on his image.
