The Kamala Harris campaign appeared to disallow the use of guns in their partnership with the battle game āFortnite.ā
The campaign partnered with the popular ābattle royaleā game to build an exclusive map called Freedom Town, USA, Newsweek reported Tuesday.
While āFortniteā has recently released new game modes that focus on building and being creative, the game rose to prominence in 2017 on the back of its ābattle royaleā game mode in which 100 players compete to kill each other and be the last man standing.
The map created by the campaign appears to restricts players from using weapons.

Harrisā map focuses on other features of the game, like role-playing, parkour and hide-and-seek, according to Newsweek.

The effort appears to be unpopular, as a relatively low number of players have participated, according to Newsweek.
Three-hundred eighty-three players used the map from roughly 8:00 a.m. Monday morning until 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, according to Newsweek. That compares to one of the gameās more popular servers, Ranked Reload, which peaked at 323,783 players in the same timeframe.
The campaign used video games twice in one week as part of its outreach strategy to target young voters.
Harrisā running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, played half a game of the āMaddenā NFL video game franchise Sunday with Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in an effort to court more young male voters.
