Clippers fans’ worst nightmare just became a reality.
Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard will be out of action for an “indefinite period of time” to start the new season due to rehabilitating from right knee inflammation, according to a report Thursday from ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania. Leonard and the Clippers are currently in the middle of a rehab process for the 33-year-old that is meant to provide him longevity to get him through the campaign, with the franchise being very cautious when it comes to his long-term fitness.
The two-time NBA Finals MVP hasn’t been active throughout the entire Clippers‘ preseason, which finishes up Thursday when they take on the Sacramento Kings. On top of that, he hasn’t been involved in any physical activity that requires contact while in training camp.

This didn’t age well at all…
Lawrence Frank on Kawhi Leonard’s status: “His right knee, the swelling has significantly gone down. It’s almost gone. … We’re going to hold him back from drill work [in training camp] and work on strengthening.”

But I kind of had a feeling that this was going to happen, it’s such a typical Kawhi Leonard thing to do.
