The science, in this instance, is that any human being born with X and Y chromosomes, male reproductive organs, and who does not menstruate is a man. This is an indisputable fact, no matter how badly liberals, Democrats, and others on the Left try to alter reality. So when the congressman from Texas referred to Rep. Tim “Sarah” McBride (D-DE) as “mister” in a House Foreign Affairs Europe Subcommittee hearing on Tuesday, he was speaking the truth.
Yet, to paraphrase the famous line from the 1992 classic film A Few Good Men, Democrats “can’t handle the truth.”
Referring to McBride as anything other than the man he is, is dishonest (and, arguably, a mental illness). McBride can wear women’s clothes, he can wear women’s makeup, he can put on women’s shoes, and he can change his name from Tim to Sarah. Those are all things well within his rights as an American citizen and, as odd as many people find it, his own decision. None of that, however, changes the fact that McBride is a man.
Self was stating the obvious truth on Tuesday. However, Democrats aren’t interested in truth. They are interested in altering reality to align with their warped minds and views. Instead of honesty, they want to coddle men who suffer from mental abnormalities and think they are women simply because they are bought and paid for by the radical gender ideology lobby. If Self decided to play along with these delusions of gender identity grandeur, he would be enabling these societal ills and, furthermore, legitimizing them. The fact that he was brave enough to reject them warrants praise and applause.
For far too long, people have allowed liberals, Democrats, and others on the Left to recreate the norms of society and dictate the rules. People were forced into compliance or otherwise punished through scorn, ridicule, condemnation, or ostracization. They regularly bullied anyone who thought differently than they did or mustered up enough courage and dared to challenge their ideas or resist. They dominated culture and society in an attempt to mold it into the vision of how they thought the world should be, no matter how wacky, crazy, or outlandish those beliefs were.
Not anymore. Self’s courageous words on Tuesday were a desire to return to normalcy, a clamoring for common sense, and an act of defiance against contemporary Bolshevism and left-wing cultural totalitarianism. He said what many others, including others in Congress who have not had the guts to do so, were thinking. It’s absurd to entertain the notion that people can change their genders or sexes. Self knows this, and he took action, decisive action.
On Tuesday, Keith Self said, “No more.” And in doing so, he made Democrats apoplectic. Bravo.

Conservative commentator and writer William F. Buckley, Jr., famously said, “A conservative is someone who stands athwart history, yelling Stop, at a time when no one is inclined to do so or to have much patience with those who so urge it.”
On Tuesday, Self yelled “stop” to the radical, left-wing cultural lemmings in government and throughout the country. It was an act of bravery and courage. Let’s give him the applause and accolades he so rightfully deserves.
