LaVar Ball, father of basketball stars Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball, had his foot amputated after suffering a medical crisis.
The famous Ball family patriarch recently faced a serious health crisis that forced him to undergo a procedure to have his right foot removed, according to TMZ Sports’ Feb. 19 report. He is reportedly in great spirits despite the life-altering surgery. There was no further information provided about the circumstances that led to the amputation.

The 57-year-old became an infamous basketball dad after outlining his master plan to make his sons Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball famous. He went on to create the Big Baller Brand and released signature shoes for all three of his boys. Lonzo and LaMelo have launched their NBA careers and LiAngelo also pursued basketball, then threw himself into the world of music and is thriving in the industry.
LaVar is known for his bold, vocal statements about his plans for his sons, and is credited for helping them by paving their path and being their biggest supporter.
The well-known basketball dad was also an athlete in his youth. He played college basketball Western Los Angeles College, Washington State and Cal State-Los Angeles. Ball then signed on with the the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers organizations. However, his attempt at a career in the NBA never took off.

LaVar’s children have not issued public comment about the current state of his health at this time.
