This is just sad.
The Buffalo Bills punched their tickets Sunday to the AFC Championship, but safety Damar Hamlin had zero interest in waiting around to talk to the press. I mean, after all, the man is just one win away from the Super Bowl — he wants to celebrate!
As ESPN‘s “SportsCenter” was about to go into an interview with Hamlin, host Scott Van Pelt tried speaking with him, but Hamlin couldn’t hear anything. And apparently, they were taking their sweet ass time getting to Hamlin. Because when ESPN put Hamlin on the screen, you could hear him dogging the four-letter network about how they were taking too long.
And my oh my, the television gold this created.
“Bro, they taking too long,” said Hamlin to a Bills staffer as Van Pelt was about to get to him. (RELATED: This Is Truly One Of The Softest Things I’ve Ever Seen In The NFL)
“Damar, it’s Scott. Can you hear me?” repeated Van Pelt over and over again. “Hey, Damar, it’s Scott Van Pelt. Can you hear me?”
“I don’t hear nobody, bro,” said Hamlin. “I’m about to dip.”
“Okie doke,” replied Van Pelt, dishing out a thumbs up as he was looking at the camera. “He’s gonna dip. Good times.”
Just a perfect representation of how embarrassing ESPN has become.
