Get ’em, Lindsey!
U.S. Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn, an absolute legend in the world of skiing, is attempting to make a comeback to the sport. Well, while that’s awesome for us Americans, other parts of the world (*cough* Switzerland *cough*) are trying to piss on her parade. Swiss skiers are questioning what Vonn’s motives are for making a return, but the legend isn’t putting up with it.
Pirmin Zurbriggen, a skiing great in Switzerland, spoke to a tabloid in the nation and told them that he believes Vonn could potentially cause damage to her knee that had to be repaired via surgery, per the Associated Press. He went on to say that if damage was caused, it could possibly stop her from being able to do sports on a proper basis for the entirety of her life. And then he just got outright disrespectful, saying that he believes Vonn has had a tough time dealing with retirement and no longer being in the limelight.
“I have the feeling that Vonn hasn’t recognized the meaning and purpose of her other life in recent years,” said Zurbriggen. “She has probably suffered from no longer being a celebrated champion.”
Yeah, Vonn wasn’t a fan of that whatsoever, clapping back on social media in brilliant fashion — by making fun of Zurbriggen and her other critics’ ignorance.
