Liam Payne’s girlfriend broke her silence on his death in a short message Oct. 18 on her Instagram Story.
Kate Cassidy spoke out about the sudden death of the former One Direction star that she had been vacationing with just prior to the tragic incident.
“Thank you for all of the kind words and love that has been sent my way,” she said. “I have been at a complete loss.” Cassidy went on to say, “nothing about the past few days have felt real.”
Cassidy was first linked to Payne in 2022 and was with him in Argentina. Payne posted several videos of his vacation with Cassidy to Snapchat just hours before his death, and documented the fun time they had shared together.
Cassidy addressed fans and requested time to heal.
“I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
She then wrote a few words directly to Payne.

“Liam, my angel. You are everything,” she wrote.
“I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam.”
Cassidy ended the emotional tribute with the number 444, an angel number that represents love and support.
Payne fell to his death from a third floor hotel balcony Oct. 16 in Buenos Aires. He was pronounced dead on-scene, at the age of 31.
Initial reports indicate a hotel manager called 911 for help just prior to his death. The caller requested immediate assistance for a guest “who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol,” according to TMZ.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to his death. An autopsy has been ordered.
