This has definitely gotta be the feel-good story of the day!
When Tuesday night rolled around, Ron Hernandez was worried about his April 1 deadline.
“I have a very short period of time to come up with the money,” said Hernandez, who needed $47,000 in order to keep his family home in Papillion, Nebraska. Along with his wife and two grandchildren, Hernandez currently resides in the house. But come to find out, he had God on his side the entire way as the whole debt ended up being paid off via donation.
Hernandez is the founder of Moving Veterans Forward, an organization that has helped move over 3,400 people into their homes. He later found out on a call from Cobalt Credit Union that he’s now getting the same treatment that he’s given so many people.
“You have touched so many lives, and we want to touch your life,” said the CEO of Cobalt Credit Union (Papillion), Robin Larsen, to Hernandez while on the phone together. “I want to let you know that Cobalt and our SAC Foundation are going to give you $25,000.”
This is truly an incredible story, and a true feel-good tale to take us into Super Bowl weekend, debatably the biggest weekend in American culture. So, as you watch the Big Game and eat like health isn’t a thing, just take some time to remember our veterans. Some of them unfortunately are struggling.
But luckily for Ron, everything worked out.
