McDonald’s is bringing back its iconic McRib sandwich in addition to a half-gallon jug of the McRib’s signature sauce, the fast-food chain recently announced.

The sandwich, which was initially removed from the McDonald’s menu in 1985 but has made numerous returns, is set to hit stores Tuesday, according to a McDonald’s press release. The franchise also announced the sale of “A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce,” a half-gallon jug of the sandwich’s iconic sauce, “perfect for holiday parties, festive recipes or the ultimate stocking stuffer for McRib lovers.”

“The McRib is more than a sandwich – it’s a part of culture, it’s a legend, it’s an event,” Tariq Hassan, the chief marketing and customer experience officer at McDonald’s, said in the press release. “McRib SZN is a holiday unto itself, so we wanted to embrace that spirit and give fans an even bigger way to celebrate this year with A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce.”

The sauce became available for purchase online for $19.99 on Nov. 25, but as of Monday, it is sold out, according to the website. (RELATED: Wendy’s Celebrating SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th Anniversary With Special Menu).

The McRib is a 520-calorie sandwich with “seasoned boneless pork dipped in a tangy BBQ sauce, topped with slivered onions and tangy pickles, all served on a toasted homestyle bun.”

McDonald’s did not specify how long the sandwich will be available but noted that it will be sold for a “limited time” at participating locations.

The McRib was re-introduced in 2022 in what the fast-food chain called the “Farewell Tour,” according to PEOPLE.

“Get one while you can because this is the McRib Farewell Tour,” the 2022 listing stated. “Enjoy our famous pork sandwich as if it’s your last!”

It was brought back again in 2023.

“It turns out not everyone was ready to say goodbye to the McRib after last year’s Farewell Tour. While it won’t be available nationwide, some lucky fans may find their favorite elusive saucy sandwich at their local McDonald’s restaurants this November,” the company said in 2023, according to Business Insider.

The pork sandwich was first debuted at a Kansas City, Kansas, location in 1981.
