The six-time NBA champion, five-time MVP, 14-time All-Star and legendary Hall of Famer issued a statement about his new role.
“I am so excited to see the NBA back on NBC,” Jordan said, according to a press release shared by NBC News.
“The NBA on NBC was a meaningful part of my career, and I’m excited about being a special contributor to the project. I’m looking forward to seeing you all when the NBA on NBC launches this October,” the basketball legend said.
NBC Sports President Rick Cordella issued a statement about the big news, saying, “We’re incredibly proud to have him join our coverage.”
This will be NBC’s first time carrying the NBA in 23 years, according to NBA.com. The carrier held NBA rights between 1990 and 2002 and broadcasted all six of the championships Jordan won with the Chicago Bulls. (RELATED: ‘Who Cares?
