MMA fighter Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos died at the age of 38.
Vasconcelos’ death was confirmed by his family and members of the fighting community Tuesday, according to TMZ. Vasconcelos enjoyed a seven-year career in the fighting scene and competed in both the UFC and Bellator. There was no information provided to shed light on the circumstances leading up to his death as of Wednesday morning, according to TMZ.

Vasconcelos made headlines for dating Demi Lovato in 2017. The two enjoyed a brief romance and were photographed while celebrating New Year’s Eve together. They broke up in May after their relationship “had run its course,” according to TMZ.
The athlete made appearances in multiple MMA promotions and had a record of 10-6 over the course of his career. Less than 24 hours before his death was announced, Vasconcelos shared a photograph on Instagram while outside of a Jiu-Jitsu studio.

Vasconcelos’ uncle, Walter, mourned the star’s death in a statement, saying, “we were looking forward to your visit for Christmas, which will no longer happen.”
Walter went on to say, “life is fleeting, and we woke up to this devastating news. What a time we live in,” according to TMZ.
“We pray for you! May God, who can do all things, welcome you in His infinite mercy and comfort all who have always loved you!”
Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos — an MMA fighter who competed in the UFC and Bellator, and dated Demi Lovato — is dead at 38 years old. The cause of death is not known at this time.
