Please tell me nobody fell for this…

The NBA has yet another problem to deal with after undergoing an embarrassing security breach Tuesday when the official Twitter account of the league was taken over by hackers.

At first glance, it looked like the NBA was in pure desperation mode to bring in money following the league’s Twitter posting an announcement that they were launching a crypto asset called “$NBA Coin.” (RELATED: ‘She Was Really Bad’: Cavaliers’ Ty Jerome Smacked With $25,000 Fine For Spittin’ Absolute Fury At Female Referee)

When Tuesday afternoon rolled around, it was confirmed by the NBA that the cryptocurrency scam was exactly that … a scam. And of course, it was done by hackers who compromised multiple global NBA social media accounts, which included ones in the United Kingdom and Spain.

“The NBA is taking the game to the next level. Introducing $NBA Coin! our official digital asset on Solana, designed to enhance fan engagement and the future of sports transactions,” read the caption of the post.

It was deleted and the league took back their accounts not much longer after the fact.

I have never in my life seen a league with so many problems at one time … geez.
