Residents are increasingly worried about unidentified drones swarming New Jersey’s skies, one witness told the Daily Caller. Now, the FBI is reportedly investigating the strange phenomena.

The drones were seen in Morris and Somerset counties. Some have speculated the drones are foreign spies or stalkers of President-elect Donald Trump.

“The [drone] sightings in and around Morristown have become increasingly worrisome,” witness Lauren Noeth  told the Daily Caller. “What started as a few people posting on Facebook groups about sightings has become nearly everyone in town having seen them.”

“My office has heard from numerous constituents about these unexplained drones flying over our homes and neighborhoods for the past two or three weeks,” Republican Assemblyman for New Jersey’s 24th District Michael Inganamort told the Caller.

“At this point, I’ve seen them myself,” he said. “I took out my garbage late last night to the end of the driveway, and I saw about six or seven drones in the sky.”

Footage provided to the Caller shows rapidly moving objects and flashing lights dotting the night sky.

“I can walk out onto my porch tonight knowing they’ll be in the night sky at 6:45 like clockwork,” Noeth told the Caller. “Some travel in groups or V formations. The larger ones can easily be mistaken for airplanes.”

Inganamort told the Caller the drones are not always moving and sometimes stay in a specific location. They have “lots of blinking lights,” he added.

Federal agencies including the FBI and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are looking into the drones, Inganamort said.

The FAA has banned drones over the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster and the Picatinny Arsenal Military Base in Rockaway, CBS News reported. Both are located in New Jersey.

“It’s clearly unnerving for people, mostly because we have no idea where these drones are coming from and what they’re doing,” Inganamort said.

“The mystery around them has everyone stumped,” Noeth said. “Over two weeks later, we still have not one clue about them, or even which direction they are coming from.”

The Caller reached out to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI but did not hear back by the time of publication.
