The New York Times ran a hit piece Wednesday on North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson’s wife, Yolanda, all while ignoring an explosive story about Doug Emhoff’s alleged abusive behavior toward women.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband allegedly engaged in abusive, misogynistic behavior toward women during his tenure at a Los Angeles law firm between 2006 and 2017, according to the Daily Mail. In an even more explosive Daily Mail story, the outlet reported that Emhoff assaulted an ex-girlfriend, an allegation that he has since denied. Something to note, Emhoff allegedly had an affair with a nanny and knocked her up. But The New York Times, of course, opts to ignore those stories — or at least dig deeper into them — because they are, by and large, in the bag for Harris and all other Democrats. Believe all women, right? If Robinson had been accused of assaulting an ex, The New York Times would be doing a big, splashy interview with the alleged victim, as would all cable news and network shows. We all know how the media hyperventilated over anything remotely disparaging about Trump, Melania or how the former president treated women in the past.
No, The New York Times is using its big investigative power to comb through Yolanda’s likes on social media and dig up dirt on her financial history since marrying her husband.
And let’s be honest: Mark Robinson is cooked, politically. His campaign is but a skeleton crew after numerous staffers resigned in the wake of the Nude Africa and transgender porn scandal. Polls show him losing by double digits. Here in North Carolina, I have heard from several conservative Republicans that they will not be voting for Robinson, and will write in a friend instead.
So why is The New York Times casting its Sauron eye on Yolanda but not a major story about the husband of a presidential nominee? Well, it might be because of the salacious nature of the Nude Africa story. This is essentially clickbait for white liberal readers who might have been a little mesmerized — a little titillated — when they read about a right-wing politician from the South who was — allegedly — trolling the dark recesses of an underground porn site and making obscene comments about slavery, women and other things that I won’t even mention here.
The only detail from this New York Times story that really matters is that Yolanda apparently follows the Daily Caller on Facebook.
“While much of the content on her Facebook profile is private, her likes are public. The robust list includes right-wing media outlets like Breitbart and The Daily Caller; groups linked to the National Rifle Association; local chapters of the Tea Party and a crisis pregnancy center,” the outlet reported.
Ah, based American, confirmed.
