We’re almost there! Subway Series 2024!

New York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole was absolutely magnificent Thursday night, only allowing the Kansas City Royals to score one run against him in seven innings to lock up a 3-1 win for the pinstripes that punched their tickets back into the American League Championship Series (ALCS). Cole, a six-time All-Star, had six hits against him and four strikeouts to his name prior to the Yanks bullpen taking over — the same Yanks bullpen who has been dominating the American League Divisional Series (ALDS) against the Royals. In the eighth, New York relief pitcher Clay Homes was perfect, which led to Yankees reliever Luke Weaver closing things out in the ninth with no problem. The performances from Holmes and Weaver extended the New York bullpen’s scoreless streak in the playoffs to 15⅔ innings.

The Yankees now wait to take on either the Detroit Tigers or Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS, which begins Monday night with New York having the home field advantage at Yankee Stadium.

Now that we have the Yankees in the ALCS and the Mets in the NLCS, I want another Subway Series. I’m just saying, at this point, we might as well root for it.

Do I hate the Mets?

Sure, but the older I get, the less I see through a fandom lens — I just wanna be entertained at the end of the day. (And make money through gambling while I’m at it)

Give me Subway Series 2024.
