The ‘No Fun League’ strikes again, and this time?
Finger guns. Yes, finger guns.
In Week 4, the NFL issued fines to a total of five players for what they label as “violent gestures,” and so far in the 2024 season, nine have been hit with fines.
And it’s pretty clear that this is a recent thing from the National Football League. New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard, for example, has done finger guns before. And during those episodes, he was never hit with a fine, never hit with a flag, not even issued a warning!

So what’s the problem now?
NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk asked the NFL that exact question on the matter, and here’s what they had to say.
“Not commenting on a specific player,” stated a league spokesperson. “But that’s been a longstanding rule as part of the reference to any violent gesture. It’s also part of the players’ manual.” (RELATED: Raiders’ Antonio Pierce Hit With 8-Year Show-Cause Order From NCAA After Violations — Oh, And A Strip Club Is Involved)
