UNC is ready for a new route!

The University of North Carolina made the move Tuesday to fire their football coach Mack Brown, with the school itself confirming the news in an official statement.

“Mack Brown has won more games than any football coach in UNC history, and we deeply appreciate all he has done for Carolina football and our university,” said athletic director Bubba Cunningham. “Over the last six seasons – his second campaign in Chapel Hill – he has coached our team to six bowl berths, including an Orange Bowl, while mentoring 18 NFL draft picks.” (RELATED: Cal Student Reportedly Slammed On Turf By Football Program’s Equipment Manager After They Try Stealing Team Helmet)

In their last game of the season Saturday against NC State, which will be in Chapel Hill, Brown will still be on the sidelines as the team’s head coach. It’s still being considered whether or not Brown will be the Tar Heels‘ skipper in their bowl game.

Putting up a 6-5 record in the 2024 season with North Carolina, Brown has a career record of 282-149-1 with one national championship that he won with Texas in 2005.

As much as I hate to say it, this may very well be the last time we ever see Mack Brown as a head coach, he was already considering retirement earlier in the season.

His firing may have just cemented things.
