A big win for sportsmanship!
In the future, flag planting at Ohio Stadium’s 50-yard line could be considered a severe crime and come with hefty consequences if a politician’s bill goes through. Ohio Stadium is the home of the Ohio State Buckeyes and politician plans to nix flag planting at OSU‘s field.
The bill is in response to the brawl between Ohio State and Michigan, as well as other brawls that happened across college football courtesy of flag planting.

In the name of sportsmanship and anything anti-unsportsmanlike, Republican State Rep. Josh Williams made the move Tuesday to introduce the O.H.I.O bill, according to a report from the Port Clinton News Herald.
Williams’ bill is meant to “prohibit planting a flagpole and flag in the center of the Ohio Stadium football field on the day of a college football game and to name this act the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act.”
But that’s not all. (RELATED: So Much For Loyalty: Fernando Mendoza Leaves Cal Teammates Hanging After Originally Claiming He Was ‘With My Boys’)
“No person shall plant a flagpole with a flag attached to it in the center of the football field at Ohio stadium of the Ohio state university on the day of a college football competition, whether before, during, or after the competition.”
And here’s what takes the cake.
“Whoever violates this section is guilty of a felony of the fifth degree. A violation of this section is a strict liability offense and section 2901.20 of the Revised Code does not apply.”
