Well, hot damn!
Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid might be one of the best players in the NHL, but that doesn’t mean that the league won’t throw punishment at him. Because they did.
The captain of the Oilers has been suspended for three games after a scene in Saturday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks saw him deliver a dirty cross-check on an opp. (RELATED: Penguins Fan Experiences True Day Of Hell After Stealing Puck From Kid, Nearly Knocked Out By His Mother)
As the game was coming to a close, with Edmonton trying to tie things up while facing a 3-2 deficit, McDavid ended up getting locked up with Canucks right wing Conor Garland. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. We had ourselves some Connor-on-Conor violence!
Going by Garland’s actions, he should’ve been hit with a couple of penalties, but the referees ended up dishing out punishment for McDavid instead when he popped Garland right in the mouth with a cross-check.

In the defense of Connor McDavid, the other Conor was all over him, so the way I’m seeing it, McDavid probably got frustrated and just decided to pop him. And as you see, Garland got the message loud and clear because he backed off right away.
Sometimes that’s just how you gotta handle business in sports. When somebody’s getting a little too physical with you, you just gotta give them a good pop.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating for full-blown violence in our stadiums or anything, but I get what was going on here with McDavid.
