Dishonest. Deceptive. Manipulative. Corrupt.
There may not be four better words in the English language to describe the presidency of Joe Biden than those. The octogenarian concluded his nearly 50 years in the federal government today and left, in perhaps the most fitting way possible for Biden, by issuing two authoritative, antidemocratic political maneuvers indicative of the corrosive moral decay that epitomized his entire career. Biden is going out the way he spent most of his years in office — abusing political power.
In what should only be described as an attack on the cherished democratic principles of our constitutional republic, Biden sought fit to create a (fictitious) constitutional amendment Friday and tout it as a “new law of the land.” Then, mere hours before leaving the White House, he crafted a preemptive pardon for Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley, and the legislators involved in the show trials known as the Jan. 6 committee, including former Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, among others.
Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution, and several judicial precedents permitted Biden to legally give such pardons. Technically speaking, he did not break any law. Nevertheless, the timing of the pardons and the people he specifically chose reeks of dishonesty and corruption. It was a manipulative tactic made possible by an unethical politician exploiting a political loophole to carry out political agendas and favors. Biden’s actions more resemble those of the Maduro regime in Venezuela or a leader of a Soviet politburo than those of the outgoing president of the United States.
On his last day in office, Biden chose to shred our cherished constitutional ideals to shield his political footsoldiers who did his dirty work from any accountability. Biden’s pardon protected a rogue general (Milley) who defied the commander in chief and might have illegally contacted a geopolitical foe. He shielded a former congressional representative (Cheney) who might have witnessed tampered. Their sanctimony led them to arrogantly believe their ideological beliefs superseded the law, which, in their minds, justified their corrupt actions. They are corrupt bureaucrats who thought they were above the law and acted with impunity.
If that was not egregious enough, Biden said Friday that he unilaterally amended the Constitution and added a 28th Amendment. There’s absolutely no legality to what Biden did or said, yet he did it anyway, and to show it was not just the ramblings of a senior citizen with a startling decline in mental faculties, numerous Democrats repeated Biden’s claim. The very same people who spent the last nine years saying Trump was a threat to the Constitution engaged in being a threat to the Constitution. It marked the first time in history a president claimed to have added an amendment.

It’s the kind of authoritative overreach that is indicative of the tyrannical ills and threat to democracy that Biden and his operatives accused Trump of doing. Biden and Democrats have regularly shown they blame others for the crimes they commit themselves. Biden’s actions over the last few days are just the latest examples of how he is part of a cadre that has no respect for the nation’s laws and principles. They deceptively wrap the flag around their hyperbolic hysteria to deceive people and hide their political aggression.
With Trump set to become president today, there is hope that his administration will correct the wrongs and end the attacks on the Constitution that Biden and his administration launched. There is hope it will restore our constitutional republic’s cherished liberties, ideals, and principles. Trump is ushering in a new era of optimism and hope that he and his administration can “Make America Great Again.”
