“Hell, I never vote for anybody, I always vote against.” – W. C. Fields, Author, Fields for President
It seems like the Democratic Party machine is stuck in neutral. For all of the noise it is making, it is going no place fast. As long as they keep working from the same Saul Alinsky playbook, progressive socialists will continue to hold the keys to the tabernacle that houses their plans and strategies on how they should react to every move the GOP makes; whether it’s right or wrong.
When Donald Trump was elected to serve our nation again, people were voting with their purses and wallets, hoping to undo all the problems that the progressives had managed to contrive in only four years. The number one issue confronting voters last election was the damage that had been done to our nation by the Biden-Harris team allowing their open border crisis to become status quo.
As we all know, election integrity protects the heart and soul of Democracy. We have sent troops all over the world to fight for democracy in someone’s homeland; even though we had no skin in the game. Although the color of their skin, the brand of their religion, their customs, their culture and language might be entirely different from ours, we sacrificed U.S. lives to defend their liberty. We defend the liberty of the world because once freedom dies, democracy soon ceases to exist.
On April 10, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, or SAVE Act, 220-208, with the votes of only four Democrats. These moderate Blue Dogs knew that their party was totally opposed to supporting any voting legislation that would further protect the integrity of the voting process for U.S. citizens; and they voted for it anyway.
An issue that never would have been an in issue in yesteryears is making headlines all over our nation. Not only did these four “representatives” take an oath to “represent us, not their party,” they were elected to do what is best for all American citizens, not a tribe of illegal aliens. Now they are the subject of scorn, mockery and disparagement from their own party’s progressive left wing.
Let’s take a look at what is so offensive to Democrats: The Save Act requires documented proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections. This is the same proof they used to register to vote. (Real ID act of 2005) It requires notification of any changes in status. It mandates states remove the names of those on voter rolls that no longer live in that state or are deceased. It is difficult to fathom that any legal U.S. citizen can possibly take offense with the Save Act?
Thanks to progressives, when you mention the word “vote” in a public forum, you must be prepared to stomp out a bonfire if you don’t agree with those on the wrong side of democracy. Those people believe everyone living in the U.S. has the right to vote “Democrat” regardless of their citizenship.
It is no secret that Segregationist Democrats disenfranchised poor whites, Southern Blacks and other minority groups for years before the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the 1964 Civil Rights Acts made voter discrimination a federal crime. Although the Voting Rights Act did not end voter discrimination in the U.S., it made disenfranchisement a federal crime which helped to alleviate it. “People have got to understand that every vote counts. I should know!” – Al Gore
After numerous progressive attempts to circumvent the U.S. voting process so illegal aliens can vote, The Save Act S. 128 / H.R. 22, was commissioned to clarify who is eligible to vote in federal elections. It also updates the voter registration process to insure accuracy of voting rolls. Listening to progressives, you’d think the GOP is trying to disenfranchise everyone who is not a Republican?
Yet we know that, “Every election is determined by the people who show up.” – Larry J. Sabato
Considering the history of Southern Democrats who filibustered the Voting Rights and Civil Rights Acts, when they needed voters to survive, Franklin D. Roosevelt courted Black and union voters into their party with promises. They’ve done the same with illegal aliens. Every voting bill they write increases chances for illegal aliens to illegally vote. Yet they do nothing to improve voter integrity for our U.S. citizens.
When The House of Representatives passed the SAVE Act, 220-208, they welcomed the votes of four Democrats who defied their party’s strident, knee-jerk opposition to this legislation. The four Democrats who crossed party lines and voted for the Save Act were U.S. Reps. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), Jared Golden (D-ME), Ed Case (D-HI), and Henry Cuellar (D-TX).
Three of the four are members of the Blue Dog Coalition of centrist Democrats, with Perez being a co-chair of the group. Rep. Case, who is not currently a member of the Blue Dog Coalition, was formerly a group co-chair. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) praised other Democrats, Jared Golden Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, and Ed Case for voting for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act.
Congresswoman Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) stated, “I voted for this bill because I oppose non-citizens voting in U.S. elections, despite “it’s deeply flawed provisions.” It was the right thing to do.
Congressman Jared Golden retorted, “There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason: American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.”
Cuellar added, “I supported this bill because I believe in something simple: Only American citizens should vote in American elections. That’s how we keep our democracy strong and ensure every vote counts.” He also reassured his constituents those who are already registered to vote would not be affected by the proposed law unless they are new voters or are re-registering. “This law is built with safeguards to protect every eligible voter. If you’re already registered, nothing changes.”
The Democratic Party we have today isn’t living up to the promise of representing the interests of their voters. Rather than engaging our current generation with enthusiasm and policies that reflect the reality they face, the party is prioritizing a “selected agenda,” one that serves special interests instead of those who put them in office. You can tell a whole lot from a politician’s voting record.
The fight for the right to vote is a story as long as American history, and it’s far from finished as long as we elect politicians who cater to identity groups and special interest politics instead of those who voted for them. Voting isn’t the only government program for which an ID is required. Then why are Democrats fixated on stopping Congress from passing laws to protect election integrity? Because young Democratic voters are leaving their party and the left needs to replace these voters. Now that they’ve over-populated our nation with illegal aliens, their ultimate goal is to register them to vote.
“The Democrat Party has a simple choice. They can either choose to fight for America’s working class or to promote illegal immigration. You can’t do both.” – Stephen Miller.
