“Oppenheimer” actress Emma Dumont came out as a trans masculine non-binary person, taking gender ideology to a whole other level of absurdity.
The star’s apparent identity crisis was revealed on Instagram in a bio update that indicates she wants to be referenced with the they/them label instead of she/her. The 30-year-old actress who played Cillian Murphy’s sister-in-law Jackie in the Oscar-winning film also debuted a new name on social media, taking on the new persona: Nick Dumont. People are starting to lose track of these new-age gender phrasings. It will be tricky to keep track of the title “trans masculine non-binary person,” which frankly sounds sort of like a complex Starbucks order at this point.
If this sort of ornately orchestrated gender phrasing keeps up, we’re going to all need name tags to help us get through it.
A representative for Dumont said, “they identify as a trans masculine non-binary person. Their work name is still going to be Emma Dumont, but they will go by Nick with friends and family.”
Dumont’s career has really taken off in the past few years, with major roles in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Licorice Pizza” and Marvel’s TV series, “The Gifted.” Dumont also has a new film coming up soon, titled “The New Me,” which currently does not have a confirmed release date.
Dumont has been active on social media recently but has not made public comments about their recent coming out. (RELATED: Alex Consani Defeats Women As ‘Model Of The Year’)
The actress was born Emma Noel Roberts and has over 25 acting credits since 2009, making this new gender label yet another name-change that she has undergone.
