Pamela Anderson recalled a frightening incident that unfolded on an airplane, claiming a man tried to attack her in a case of mistaken identity.
The “Baywatch” star made the revelation on the Monday episode of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast as part of a question and answer period. She was asked if she had ever been mistaken for another celebrity, and she responded by detailing the shocking experience. She said a man mistook her for someone else and things got out of hand very quickly.
“This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what this country’s done for you?’” Anderson said. “And I was like, ‘Oh, my God. What have I done?’ I was like, ‘Oh god.”
She went on to say, “I looked back and he was [angry]. Then this stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me!”
Anderson told the host that the man mistook her for a highly controversial singer while the situation was unfolding.
“Yeah. Ended up he thought I was a Dixie Chick,” she said.
“Remember that whole Dixie Chick thing?” Anderson continued.
The famous actress didn’t indicate when this incident took place. The Dixie Chicks faced widespread backlash in 2003 when lead singer Natalie Maines condemned the U.S. invasion of Iraq while onstage. She spoke out during a concert in London, saying that her band was ashamed then-President George W. Bush was from Texas, which was also Maines’ place of birth. The band’s public image was damaged by the comment and their music sales took a hit.
March 10, 2003 – the Dixie Chicks made the famous comment about being ashamed President George Bush was from Texas right before the start of the Iraq War (WOMD war). I was so upset I threw my Dixie Chicks cassettes away lol
Maybe I was wrong to be upset, IDK lol. pic.twitter.com/F8zyY26G5i
