LIV Golf superstar Phil Mickelson is letting the public know how he feels when it comes to the Daniel Penny case, doing so in a “random thoughts” tweet Sunday.
While putting out his thoughts on social media, Mickelson appeared to be watching the “Sunday Night Football” game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs.
“Random thoughts Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth are great in the booth. ‘Day of the Jackal’ is an incredible show,” wrote Mickelson. “If a deranged individual threatens to kill you let’s hope there’s a Daniel Penny around.”

If you’re not familiar, Penny prevented a deranged individual from hurting other people in 2023 while on a subway car in New York City. This led to the military veteran being charged with the death of Jordan Neely, doing so by chokehold. He was later found not guilty of criminally negligent homicide.
Mickelson also expressed his thoughts when it came to Penny being exonerated Monday. (RELATED: 50 Cent Suggests Jay-Z Could Be Dropped By NFL As Producer Of Super Bowl Halftime Show After Rape Allegations)
“Finally, a little common sense. There never should have been a trial. He should be commended for selfless actions to protect the other passengers, and those who brought charges should be out of a job,” wrote Mickelson.

“Thank you Daniel for serving your country and for protecting the many passengers whose lives were threatened by this violent and deranged individual,” Mickelson said in another post.
