Police in Kansas nabbed a naked man after a “bizarre and violent encounter” with officers outside a general store Wednesday.
Officers with the Lawrence Kansas Police Department (LKPD) responded to Casey’s General Store around 3:00 p.m. after a report of a man with a dog inside the store bathroom who was refusing to leave, the LKPD said on Facebook.
Upon entering the bathroom officials discovered the man was naked and apparently engaging in a sexual act with himself. Responding officers attempted to arrest the individual after he refused to stop. At that point, the man allegedly began to fight the officers. Officials used a taser on the man twice but he allegedly continued to fight the officers.
“Eventually, officers were able to get the man in handcuffs, but he continued to resist being restrained, and while still in the cramped bathroom, the man bit onto his dog’s ear and neck, refusing to let go,” police said. During the encounter, the man also allegedly bit an officer.
Officers on scene radioed for help and after backup arrived, they successfully subdued the individual. The man was then taken to a local hospital for evaluation, according to the police department. (RELATED: Man Allegedly Bites Chunk Of Officer’s Ear Off During Traffic Stop Scuffle, Cops Say)
The man is set to be booked on a series of charges once he is identified and released from the hospital. He will eventually be transported to the Douglas County Correctional Facility, officials added.
“Multiple officers suffered minor injuries during the scuffle, including an officer who was treated at the hospital for a puncturing bite wound from the suspect,” officials said.
The dog was transported to the Lawrence Humane Society for evaluation and treatment after sustaining minor injuries, the LKPD said.
