Passengers aboard a Qantas airline flight got more than they bargained for when every single screen began showing a sexually explicit movie during a recent flight.
The Australian airline said they experienced some sort of technical issue that prevented travelers on a Sydney-to-Tokyo flight from selecting their own movie, according to TMZ. One movie was shown on all screens instead — and it just so happened to be the provocative film, “Daddio,” starring Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn. The film featured sexting, explicit nudity and lots of profanity, and passengers weren’t able to toggle away from the screen, according to TMZ.

The wild ordeal unfolded during a 10-hour flight, horrifying passengers that weren’t expecting this sort of in-flight entertainment, TMZ reported.
Travelers were subjected to the explicit content and lashed out against the airline, holding them fully accountable for the incident.
To highlight the true nature of what was shown, the movie’s IMDB Parents Guide section cautions that “photos of nude female breasts & a prosthetic penis are shown on a phone.”
Complaints poured in on social media, and one Reddit user that claimed to be a passenger on the flight said, “The movie they played was extremely inappropriate. It was impossible to pause, dim, or turn it off.”
They went on to say how long this went on for.
“It featured graphic nudity and a lot of sexting — the kind where you could literally read the texts on screen without needing headphones. It took almost an hour of this before they switched to a more kid-friendly movie, but it was super uncomfortable for everyone, especially with families and kids onboard,” the user claimed.
Qantas issued a statement of apology to address the backlash.
“The movie was clearly not suitable to play for the whole flight and we sincerely apologize to customers for this experience,” they wrote, according to TMZ.
“All screens were changed to a family friendly movie for the rest of the flight, which is our standard practice for the rare cases where individual movie selection isn’t possible,” they noted. The stunned passengers could do very little with the apology, considering the damage had already been done.
