Disney continues to flaunt its political double standards, running conservatives out of the company while continuing to promote hate-filled liberals as the faces of their iconic stories.
Disney chose Rachel Zegler to portray Snow White in yet another reboot of a classic film, and the decision has been a disaster from the start. In 2022, Zegler trashed the original 1937 film for not being feminist enough, only to later walk it back due to public backlash. Zegler also tried to whip up antisemitism after a trailer of the film aired showing her Israeli co-star Gal Gadot.

With the perpetually controversial production decisions pushing the film back, it is set to finally hit screens in March 2025, and Zegler is still trying to drown the production in politics. After the 2024 elections, Zegler declared that she hopes that all the voters who supported President-elect Donald Trump “never know peace.”
For some reason, Zegler trashing the original version of the film she is supposed to be paying homage to was not enough for Disney to make a change. Neither was her fueling antisemitism against her own co-star. Likely, Disney won’t cut ties with Zegler despite her wishing misery on half of the country. Instead of trying to get people excited to see her film, Zegler is taking every opportunity to spread hatred and wish ill upon half of the country.
It is a far cry from how Disney treated Gina Carano, who was fired for “abhorrent” social media posts in which she made a sloppy comparison between Nazi Germany and today’s political climate. Carano’s post stated that the German government rounded up Jews first by making “their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews” and questioned, “How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.”

Again, it was a sloppy comparison, but Carano’s message was that political hatred is a bad thing. Zegler, meanwhile, spews political hatred every time she gets upset reading her social media timeline. Disney can’t even claim that it was the Holocaust reference that makes the difference here, because the company was fine with Pedro Pascal comparing American immigration policies to Nazi Germany.
Because Carano did not adhere to transgender activist orthodoxy, she was punished for her political posts. Zegler’s posts and comments are far more toxic, hate-filled, and political, and yet Disney continues to let her alienate its audience while trying to promote her to the very people she views with contempt. Disney wants to isolate conservative voices while letting progressives spew their own “abhorrent” comments, because Disney is a political actor before it is an entertainment company.
