Reality television star Kristin Cavallari said she awoke to see a masked man crawling on her bedroom floor during a trip to the Bahamas in 2020.
She recalled the incident on the Dec. 17 episode of her “Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari” podcast. The star of “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County,” “The Hills” and “Very Cavallari” relived a scary moment she said unfolded when she was asleep in bed with her young son, Cam.
She recalled that their HVAC unit failed and workers had to go into the house to repair it.
“That night I had Camden in the bed with me. Cam and I were sleeping,” she said. “And I woke up to a man crawling on my bedroom floor.”
Cavallari went on to detail what happened when she realized there was an alleged intruder in her bedroom.
“I was so out of it because obviously I had just woken up,” she said.
“And I go, ‘What the fuck are you doing?’ And this man stands up and runs out the door, and, you guys, he had a ski mask on, full black arms, black pants, like the full thing. And then I went ‘oh, fuck,’” Cavallari continued.
The 37-year-old star said she was very aware of the fact that her child was with her so she instinctually protected him in that moment.
“But because Cam was in the bed with me, I didn’t yell. I didn’t scream,” she said.
“You think in those moments that that’s what you’d do, but your instincts just kick in. I honestly felt like I was in ‘Mission Impossible.’”
She then proceeded to seek help from her former husband, Jay Cutler. She left her son in the bed in search of him, finding him upstairs.

“Once I woke Jay up, then I got really nervous,” she admitted. “Then I start [to get] like, really scared. I started shaking, and I was able to process then what just happened. But until that point, I was not scared. I was really calm. You just are running off of instinct.”
Cavallari went on to describe the incident as “one of the scariest things that I went through,” and said that she has not yet told her three children that this incident occurred.
“My kids still do not know,” she said.

“Long story short, he took all of the cash that we had in a backpack. We ended up getting it back. We found out who it was. It was the HVAC guy,” she claimed.
The reality star said she would only ever tell her children about this incident once they were adults.
