The Miami-Dade County Police issued a warrant Wednesday for former NFL star Antonio Brown, relating to a May shooting at a celebrity boxing event.
The warrant listed a charge of attempted murder with a firearm and set Brown’s bond at $10,000, requesting that he remain under house arrest pending trial, according to The Washington Post. Police allege efforts to reach the 36-year-old athlete were unsuccessful Thursday evening. It remains unclear whether Brown has secured legal representation.

The criminal charge stemmed from an alleged incident outside a boxing event held May 16 in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami. The warrant alleged that Police responded to a report of gunshots being fired outside of the venue just before midnight. An off-duty officer who had been working security at the event claimed he was told about the sound of gunfire and observed Brown involved in a physical altercation with another male, according to The Washington Post.
The warrant went on to claim patrons in the parking lot identified Brown as the shooter. Investigators located spent shell casings and an empty gun holster but did not find a weapon on Brown after patting him down. Police detained Brown and released him hours later, according to The Washington Post.
The outlet reported that Brown took to social media that night alleging he was “jumped” by people attempting to steal his jewelry.

Miami police obtained video footage that appeared to show Brown punching another man, triggering a fight to ensue. The warrant alleged the footage appeared to show Brown taking the gun of a security officer and running toward the man he had previously punched. Cellphone video captured the victim ducking after two gun shots were fired, according to The Washington Post.
According to police, detectives met with the alleged victim May 21, and he told them that after an initial fight was broken up, Antonio Brown “began to run toward him with a firearm” and fired two shots, one of which may have grazed his neck. The alleged victim sought treatment for his injuries at Aventura Hospital.
The arrest warrant claimed Brown walked away from the scene before police arrived. The victim, who said he has known Brown since 2022, later identified him in surveillance footage, according to The Washington Post.
