The media is working overtime to cover for the South African government after President Donald Trump forced President Cyril Ramaphosa to watch videos of the country’s leaders calling for the genocide of white farmers.
Ramaphosa visited Trump at the White House on Wednesday. During their conversation in the Oval Office, Trump asked his staff to dim the lights and play a compilation video of South African government officials calling for land confiscation and the murder of white farmers.

Quickly after the meeting, left-wing media, who are not shy about their hatred and critical views of Trump, began posting scare quotes around Trump’s genocide remarks, calling Trump’s claims “baseless” and “false.” Some outlets accused Trump of ambushing Ramaphosa with the video. It seems the hill the media want to die on is that “the calls and actions to murder and confiscate land from white farmers in South Africa aren’t actually genocide.” Apparently, it’s inhumane to deport illegal immigrant gang members, but calling out the systematic hunting of white farmers is considered “baseless,” “false,” and an “ambush.”
Some will argue that the level of killings in South Africa hasn’t met the technical definition of genocide, and that is why the media is hitting back at Trump’s claims. But I would ask them how many white farmers need to be raped, tortured, and had their land stolen before we call a spade a spade?

To be clear, calls for genocide are not genocides in themselves and do not always lead to genocide. Still, when you can quantify that white farmers constitute roughly 0.05–0.15% of South Africa’s population, assuming 30,000–86,000 white farmers out of 60 million people, and their murders (40-50 a year) consist of almost 90% of the farmer murders in the country it definitely seems calls for genocide make (at the very least) targeted murder of white farmers more likely to happen. These outlets are downplaying the realities these families face. Is it because their skin color doesn’t afford them the same protections that someone from Haiti or Venezuela receives from left-wing “journalists?” Or are they willing to ignore the video of white crosses filling the side of the South African highway like a wave of death, just because they want to do or say anything that aligns with their ultimate mission– disagreeing with Trump?
The reason it’s so important to focus on the race of the farmers in question is because South African government officials are chanting along with stadiums of people: “Kill the Boer! Brrrr pap! Kill the White farmer! Brrrr pap!” And somehow, when the media are forced to watch these videos of government officials promising to steal land, claiming that revolution can’t happen without murdering people, and singing songs about making white farmers flee in fear, their choice is not with the obviously oppressed but with the oppressors.

If the end result of the social experiment in South Africa over the last 40 years is mass death, the left then comes face-to-face with the fall of their most treasured canon. On the surface, we aren’t allowed to call this a genocide, but what they’d really like us to do is ignore what’s happening in South Africa altogether because it exposes the left’s little secret. When the Apartheid fell, everyone told us that South Africa would become a beacon of equality. That the country would thrive on the beauty of government-sanctioned DEI. But this utopian fever dream was always destined to fail because, despite the reality that ending Apartheid was morally right, when you replace one racially motivated regime with another, mass death almost always accompanies it.

The media can’t afford to allow Trump to be correct, not about whether there is a genocide, nor if there are murders and land grabs at all, not at a time when DEI in America is experiencing its own death march. So they ignore the plight of South Africa’s white farmers. They send out fact-checks and bloviate on TV about how Trump is overstating the death toll. They say that white farmer murders make up less than 1% of the total murders in South Africa, and wash their hands of the population and reality.
But they can’t escape that there are chants of genocide happening in South Africa, and white Farmers do make up the overwhelming majority of farmer murder victims in the country. Trump is doing the right thing by bringing attention to this. He is the only world leader willing to use his elected position to do it. The left-wing media freak-out was expected, but no less disgusting.
